Beetroot Cutlet

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 medium beetroot (boiled and grated)
  • 2 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • 1 small carrot (grated)
  • ¼ cup green peas (boiled)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 green chillies (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
Spices & Seasoning
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper (optional)
Binding & Coating
  • 3–4 tbsp breadcrumbs or oats powder
  • 2 tbsp cornflour (optional)
  • Oil for shallow frying
For Serving
  • Mint chutney
  • Yogurt dip
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Onion rings & lemon wedges

Instructions

  • Mix grated beetroot, potatoes, carrot, peas, onions, green chilli, coriander, and all spices in a bowl
  • Add breadcrumbs or oats powder and mix until the mixture holds shape easily
  • Shape the mixture into small round or oval cutlets
  • Heat a pan with little oil and place the cutlets carefully
  • Cook on medium heat until crispy and golden on both sides
  • Serve hot with mint chutney, yogurt dip, or ketchup
