- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 small carrot (chopped)
- ¼ cup green peas
- 1 small capsicum (chopped)
- 1 green chilli (chopped)
- 1 tsp ginger (grated)
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 6–8 curry leaves
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper (optional)
Cooking Essentials
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
- 2 cups water
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Lemon juice

- Roasted peanuts or cashews
- Coconut chutney
- Curd or yogurt
- Chilli flakes for extra spice
Instructions
- Dry roast oats in a pan for 2–3 minutes and keep aside
- Heat oil or ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin, and curry leaves
- Add onions, ginger, green chilli, and sauté until soft
- Mix in carrots, peas, capsicum, turmeric, salt, and cook for 2–3 minutes
- Pour water into the pan and bring it to a gentle boil
- Add roasted oats and stir continuously to avoid lumps
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until soft and fluffy
- Garnish with coriander, lemon juice, and roasted peanuts
- Serve hot with chutney or curd
