- 1 cup yellow moong dal (soaked for 3–4 hours)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 green chilli (chopped)
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1 small carrot (grated, optional)
Spices & Seasoning
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper (optional)
- 1–2 tsp oil or ghee for cooking
- Water as needed for batter consistency
For Serving
- Mint chutney
- Tomato ketchup
- Curd or yogurt dip
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
- Drain the soaked moong dal and blend into a smooth batter with little water
- Mix onions, green chilli, coriander, carrot, and all spices into the batter
- Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil or ghee
- Pour batter onto the pan and spread into a thin circular chilla
- Cook until golden and crispy on both sides
- Serve hot with mint chutney, curd, or tomato ketchup
